The Asian region is a joint program that focuses on graduate scale processes that cross and connect the different parts of the Asian continent. Euro-Asian continent is the largest contiguous land space in the world and it had ancient civilizations have developed and continue to develop a variety of cultural, social and linguistic incomparable. Today, Asia is also on the economic and cultural world's most vibrant. In recent years, Israel and the world academic interest in the past and present of the continent, but in research usually focuses on the area of cultural, linguistic or political alone, we see Asia "laboratory" a vast allows flow test multi-cultural and multi-regional, as well as issues that encourage comparison between -trbotit. We believe that a broad approach is multidimensional also important for understanding the history of Asia and the understanding of the processes occurring in the contemporary global world. The program is based on the many experts, two universities, governing ancient and modern tongues of the continent; Cultural richness, art, religious beliefs, literature and philosophy various regional development during the past and modern and contemporary history. Synergy of existing knowledge and the creation of a framework of classes taken together several researchers from various fields, joint guidance of students, and academic meetings interdisciplinary, all of these will enable the establishment of a knowledge center and teaching at the international level the highest.

A joint program to the Hebrew University and the University of Haifa. The Asian region is a structured program master's degree and doctorate, run by professors from the departments of Asian Studies, Middle Eastern Studies, and Geography from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and Haifa University. The curriculum emphasizes the contextual aspects, theoretical and methodological exploration of intercultural contacts and comparative approach to historical research, cultural and contemporary. The program will absorb the authorized level of outstanding candidates and their doctoral dissertation clearly deal with transfer of knowledge and significant effects between cultures and civilizations that existed or exist Asian continent since the earliest periods to the present or in inter-regional significance. Applicants accepted to the program will be eligible for scholarships. Students will participate in seminars designed specifically for the program along with intensive courses of guest speakers from abroad. In addition, the program will be a variety of activities, some of which will be earmarked only for students plan and some will be open to the public, such as tours, workshops, courses, traveling abroad, and conferences. The program is international and largely conducted in English.
